I would love to be able to play the game I grew up with when I first started paintball back in the mid 80's. The only game played at fields was Capture the Flag. The field consist of two permanent flag stations (nothing fancy, just a few skids - kind of a mini fort) that each has the opponents flag in it. Each team starts at their flag station. When a game starts players move out to try to get their flag from the other teams station and return it to their station before the time (30 to 45 minutes) expires. If time expires the score is determined by player eliminations (2pt each) and flag capture (25pt. each). A flag hang is worth 50pts. I would like to know if anybody else would be interested in a field like this?

I was going to set up some stuff in the back 9 and the middle field. I could build a fort in the back 9 to have classic ctf, but i could use some help. I was thinking of doing it sometime on saturday (8-6-05). I have the materials, i just need help. Message me if you're interested, or call my cell (513)313-1736.

Yes,
I Love this Game too! And Center Flag (Start at the Bases and go for the Flag - then take it to the other base to win)
Those new Skids from Matt & Gene (Smurfit Stone) could be used as the bases. One skid for each base.

What I enjoy most is how many different ways you can approach the game as a team. You can play heavy defense and send out a small force to get the flag, you can go all out send everybody for the flag in one direction or different directions. You can plan an all out attach with 5 minutes left in the game, the options are endless! It stops both teams from "camping" the entire game and gives meaning to putting out the opposing players (getting points) and staying alive yourself (keeping points from them). It seems to make both teams plan and use strategies more than in a elimination only game. You need permanent flag stations so both teams can walk the field right before the game so they know where both flags stations are. I think I still have the Official Survival Game Rule Book that could be used as the base rules for the game. We always had a great time.
