I have had some people ask me about this and I love it. This would be a camp out type of thing (bring the tents)
I have a few Ideas for this. I would only do this unless I had a definate 20 or more people.
This would be a bunch of little missions that were part of a huge battle.
Start throwing Ideas and interest my way.

TEXTYeah I'd play Ive been wanting to play something like this for awhile now. I was thinking we could have mines and all that stuff and then have POW camps( those would be the person you just shot) and they could only be released if you took a flag or something like that. Also there would be two teams each with their own base.

yeah that would be pretty awesome. nothing too complex though. 24 hrs requires a lot of paint. time to stock up

It would be something that we would go out on missions every hour or so. we would have generals, XOs, platoon leaders.
Possible missions
- Omaha Beach - Ammo depot - Resupply run - Cross roads (From Band of Brothers) - Currahee (also BoB) - Operation Market Garden - Operation BattleAxe - Replacements (BoB) - The breaking point (BoB) - HQ standoff - Crescent Creek - 101st airborne assault (night time drop) - Bocage - Live or Die

Summary of Operation Market Garden, From: the WWII Final Report of Michael Franchi To cut off the defending German forces in Holland and drive into Germany, British armor was assigned the task of driving north 64 miles up the Eindhoven-Nijmegen-Arnhem road corridor and link up at the great bridge at Arnhem over the Rhine River with the First Allied Airborne Army who would be dropped behind the lines to seize and hold the bridgehead at Arnhem. This would be, and to this day remains, the largest airborne attack in history. As it happened, the paratroopers carried out their mission of seizing the road corridor through Holland and secured the several river crossings, including the bridge at Arnhem So, large amounts of paratroopers and armor in previously secured metropolitan areas

Market garden was a high risk mission that failed. The hopes were that if it succeded that the war would be over by christmas. that didnt happen.

my thoughts on this ... hmm...
i think that in order for it to be engaging and fun for an entire day, we'd need some kind of overarching goal (not to mention food!!)
We could have territory to capture ... hmm .. just had an idea.
This may be crazy-off, but meh. Run it like an actual battle for domination of various points in the 30-some-odd acre field by splitting it all up into small territories on the large map. Flag points would be set up in each territory. The team who has a flag raised on that flag point, rules that territory.
limiters though: because no one wants to play 24hrs of non-stop paintball ... well, mostly no one ..... Both teams have tag-up areas where they can rest and be 'safe'. In order to prevent 5 hour matches, each person is worth 10 minutes on the field. Once they leave the safe-zone, the 10 minutes starts to count down. If they move in groups, their minutes combine. For example, two people could stay out for 20 minutes, 3 for 30, etc.
We can have specific times where everyone stops and goes back to the picknick area to eat some grub. But anyway, I'm kinda diggin this idea. Print out maps with the territories, and the location of the flag-points then send the teams out on opposite sides of the woods. While everyone is eating, we could have some people tally up who is winning by what number of territories belong to who.
Maybe CM wouldn't mind bringing an extra sales person--one for each safe zone? I mean, it's guaranteed business, why wouldn't they?
just random thougths here ... obviously it needs touching up. what do you all think?

An overall win might be tallied by whatever team has the most flags from the combination of missions that were played. each victory = 1 flag (or point). at the end whoever has the most wins the war??? I like the control points idea, something to chew on. Keep em comming

maybe we could do it so that different missions are played over different sections of territory. If you win that mission than your team gets the territory. Multiple matches could take place in different places ... hmm ...
you may even want to elect how many people go in on a certain mission, depending on which territory you think is valuable. for example, a mission of 4 v 4 capture the flag (I'm being generic here) for a specific territory -- you may elect to only have 3 on your team, and send the extra guy to help in a different territory where you have to assault a fort in under 20 min, or some such.
i wonder if it's possible to decide the territories in jeopardy during break times in the shelter by looking at the map and having the commanders of each team decide where they want to move in at. Kind of like a game of Risk that ends in paintball ...
heh, keep on thinkin
