I understand the principles of higher end paintballs with the seam being less resistance to the air as it flys thru it, which will keep the paintballs flight from being curved as much. personally I dont see that drastic of a difference in the flight of a higher end paintball vrs a lower end paintball, at least not enough to convince me to spend the money to by the higher end brands.
So what is the big push for the higher end brands???

I posted Some Information about Paintballs in the Paint Section of this Forum.
All things being equal (Date of Paint - Fresh Paint, Bore Size of ball), I 'd rather spend the extra for Marbalizers or Evil paint. "You Get What You Pay For!"
I personally have found that when I pay the $3.00-$4.00 more for Evil Paint, I get more "Kills" per Day. I used to buy the cheaper paint and I was always unhappy because: Paintballs would break in Gun or Barrel, Would not fly straight (curve & corkscrew), Poor Accuracy, and Poor Range.
Unfortunately, paint has become too expensive lately. That's why I can only play twice a month!

WHAT TYPE OF MARKER ARE YOU USING BECAUSE I NEVER HAVE A PROBLEM WITH BALL BREAKING IN MY GUN. I HAVE A 98 CUSTOM.

Same as yours. I have a Response Trigger and use both Pro Team & Boomstick barrels. I was told the paint could be old, but I buy it "fresh" (you never know when these stores actually buy their stuff - or how long it has been sitting. What specific type of paint are you enjoiyng?

Which way?
What type of gun do you use? I have heard that Tippmanns curve to the left. These were older models when the Customs first came out. I don't know about the Model 98's

I use whatever the cheapest brand that critical mass brings each saturday. (forgot the name)
As far as curve I have not really noticed much of a difference in curve between paintballs kinda like Todd was saying. Except for the super cheap Brass Eagle.
I checked out your post on paintballs (very interesting) and did learn a couple of things like the brittle test and about the paint thickness or brightness.
Other than that though my shots vrs kills ratio is very low. I usually hit what I aim for with just a 3 round burst style of play. I am very selective with my shots however, but I do have pretty good range with moderate accuracy.
I have the Teardrop 12" barrel.
I have heard that depending on the marker if you use to long of a barrel it can accually hurt you more than help you. The ball accually starts to slow down well before it clears the barrel. thats why I went with 12" insted of 14".

When I played with my Spyder Victor the paintballs would go in every direction. Now with my Pirahna it usually goes to the right or left with my 14 progressive barrel. I usually use Stinger, Menace, Diablo Heat, and sometimes RPS.

It does this with the RPS paint? That's the better one of the four. Menace used to be called Big Ball from PMI. They did not fly straight when I used them years ago. I don't know anything about Stingers or Diablo Paints But I do know that RPS makes the best paint - but for a high price. Maybe that's why they are at so many tournaments.

The RPS wouldn't do it as much as the other few types but it would still curve a good amount.

OK time for my hate paint rant Menace- hate it for the brittleness and huge curve i get when it is in my evil driver Blue Streak- We should be putting this in our military weapons cause the rounds will never break on you and its garauntted to "kill" the person you shot RPS/PMI- Way too expesive for being a satisfactory brand of paint... SATISFACTORY Evil- Good paint, but still too expesive for stuff that is made in $%&@! Shops So i hope this enlightented you to the paint problem in america and you go out and voice my opinions

I'm with Tim on this one. As long as I clean my barrel, the paint goes straight no matter what it is I'm shooting. Except that garbage paint you can buy from *d*icks sporting goods ... ugh, that stuff was vicious-bad. breaking inside the barrel, curving in arbitrary directions ... But i did get a good case out of it, so I suppose it isn't a complete loss.
Todd, my brotha, if all the paint curves in your gun, but not anyone elses ... it may be the gun/barrel
